Over the last couple of years I have been working more with film. At the moment I’m working with short form pieces though I’m planning a bigger piece, probably a video essay, which I hope to start production on soon.
I have a couple of pojects I’ve been putting together recently,
The Kineku Project and Sketches from Japan. They are both still in the very first stages of production and have their own dedicated pages.

Currently in post production Kitsune no Mado is a short based on a piece of flash fiction inspired by Japanese folklore and urban legends.
The Progress of My Neighbour’s Cherry Tree Blossom This Week (2023) was really an editing exercise but I quite liked how it turned out. Sadly the tree has had a branch cut so it looks less wild and interesting right now.
Views From Atlantic City (2025) is a happy accident. Or rather I didn’t know that my camera, (which was new at the time this film was shot), had this function whereby it created these clunking pieces of footage whilst a series of photos were being shot. I now have a few of these weird little films that I’m planning on using elsewhere but this was the first one I noticed. I like how these casual conversations about the hotel room and what anime we’d been watching were incidentally captured.
Conceived, filmed and edited in one day A WORK (2023) is a piece made for the Artquest 30 works 30 days project in April 2023. The aim of the project is to get artists to make and presents new pieces of work for every day in April. Each day you are given a new brief. This piece was from day 22 “Make a work and exhibit or leave it in a public place for someone to find”. Really wasn’t sure about this brief but I ended up having a bit of fun with it. It’s not the most technically proficient short film ever but it’s not bad for limited resources, a brief given at midnight and a day to shoot and edit it all. Whist going through and arranging the clips I kept thinking about the filmmaker John Smith. I know I’m not anywhere near his brilliance but it was fun trying.
Shrink (2023) is probably one of my favourite things I’ve made. I see it more like a sketch that worked well than a proper finished piece but I liked the process would play with this kind of shooting and editing again. It was another piece from the Artquest 30 days 30 works project. The brief “Get smaller”. So I did!
