I am intending to produce a feature length video essay looking at the similarities and differences between Japanese and British cultures. Sketches from Japan is really a research sketch book. Very rough around the edges but this process has given me an idea of how I want to use some footage, what I need to film in the future, and how I might edit it all together.
These are the first two more presentable shorts. The first being from right at the beginning of my trip to Japan in October 2024. The second being from about halfway through when I visited with some dear friends. They really looked after me and took me on brilliant adventures.
